Hi All
Just located the first wishbone inner fulcrum shaft. Quite fun getting all the washers lined up

Plenty of grease plus a couple of 15mm dowels as dummy shafts really help...you can to and fro them as you fit everything
Also one end had less space due to springyness of cage so it was easier to get all the washers in this end first, the other end was then much easier.
One down, one to go

Hi Robbie...looking good.....check out your grease nipples......usually they are straight and not 90deg so that you can access them through the holes in the irs base plate....Steve

Hi Steve
You’re quite correct for the later cover plate, however mine is early ‘62 and has the early cover.
It has a larger central access hole and is cut away where the grease nipples are. The grease nipples were 90 degree ones pointing outwards see my photo.
It’s all in the detail

Regards and thanks for pointing it out

Looks very nice. I did mine last summer, you’re right, getting everything to line up is very fiddly.
One point, are the nuts securing the discs the correct locking nuts? I see they need to come off again as the driveshafts aren’t installed. They should be locking nuts, but aren’t nylocks, as nylocks don’t like the heat from the brakes.

Hi Steve/Tom
Got to do hub carriers and drive shafts and attach shockers and radius arms
The nuts are temporary with some domed spacers just to hold everything in place and get the discs centralised and callipers shimmed. I have locking nuts ready but I won’t do these until the car is in it’s wheels and the spacers set up!
BTW. I’m struggling a little with getting a couple of the circlips to sit in their grooves properly on the drive shaft UJs ...I guess it’s because the bearing cups need pushing in a tiny fraction more? I worry about making the UJs a bit stiff but I guess they free up with a bit of use?
Am I correct?
Any views
Regards
Robbie

Hi Robbie.....are you useing the original style circlips....if so have a close look at one they look like they have been stamped out so slight round edge on one side and flat on the other...i found that fitting them with the flat side to the uj fitted best..i didnt like the new ones that came with the uj,s they didnt seem to fit very well.....Steve

I had the same problem. Those new circlips are definitely thicker than the old ones. I ground them down slightly to get them to fit.

Yes,
when installing a circlip, check each face as when they are stamped out there is a smooth face and a slightly rounded face due to their production.
The smooth face of the clip should always be installed towards the item it is retaining - i.e. against any force trying to push against the clip.

Hi
Has anyone fitted a remote bleed system for the rear brakes?
If so , any opinions on whether to self fabricate or buy a bespoke (eg Fosseway) system?
Advice would be appreciated

Robbie, I've fitted the Fosseway remote bleed kit. Easy to fit and use. It'll come down to you deciding how much fabrication you want to do.

Here’s a further shot of my IRS
Shockers might be a little too blue but probably ok with a bit of dust/road dirt on

Super job Robbie. Hope you were more successful than I was in getting the bearing preloads and endfloats correct...
+1 for the Fosseway bleed kit
