Head just back from the machine shop and need to replace the 2 large threaded brass plugs on the inlet side that were removed as part of the process.

This was not asked for but I assume that it would be better to seal the threads, so what if anything is recommended ?

Were they originally sealed as they appear clean ?

Thanks

Hi,

To seal it's HYLOMAR BLUE.
You'll use it also for oil, gazoline, water, air.

Will Hylomar Blue be able to withstand the very high temperature on the cylinder head, bearing in mind these plugs need to be watertight.

Thanks

Look at Hydormat web
Operating temp -50/ +250°C
Sorry, I really don't know if the cylinder head goes up to 250°C

have a look at Wellseal. Developed by Rolls Royce for use on the Merlin. I use it on jobs like this and have never had an issue. But again, check out the website for specifications
