#1 Coolant Leak

Post by SimonBrown » Wed May 22, 2019 8:12 pm

I have a small coolant leak from the top hose/thermostat housing joint on my Series 2.
After removing the hose I have found the thermostat housing to be quite badly pitted.
Can anyone suggest a suitable sealant to apply to the housing/ hose before reassembly?
Thank you
Simon

You need to fill the divots to get a smooth surface for the hose to seal against. Good quality silicone, JB weld or similar, or TIG filling with aluminium rod will all work.
