Leaking Fuel Hose

Went to start the car this morning and there was a strong smell of petrol. Flipped the bonnet and found this:


The hose has become porous! Although the markings have rubbed off I think it may be Sytec FH O13 NBR which is rated for petrol but I wonder whether it is ethanol resistant?

David : Been there, seen that, done that, albeit not I think with the specification you cite. My experience has been that these days fuel hose does not last much longer than about 5 years . I buy mine in generic lengths from a local stockist and change the hoses every few years ( when I remember that is )

It is all a bit reminiscent of the similar problems experienced 7 or 8 years ago with braided brake feed hose, but I imagine the chemistry involved is quite different

Glad to see it is not just me them. I have Sytec FH103 on the shelf and fitted a new length which will hopefully hold up for another 10 years as I installed the first one back in 2008 along with the Filter King.
