I just remade my scuttle top casing in aluminium and would like to know were to buy the trim cover.

Hi Michel,

If you mean item 26 in the pic , I got mine from BAS. It needs to be heated up and moulded round the metal or in your case aluminium panel. I didn't fancy doing it myself so sent the panel to Jack at BAS to do, however there are those on here who have done it themselves. Richard rswaffie springs to mind.

If "scuttle top casing" and" trim cover" don't refer to a dash top cover then just ignore the above.

So I ignore ...
The parts I refer are the pannels under dashboard but the Jaguar book call them "scuttle top casing assembly".
I need to cover them as near as the original for I think the original trim is now no longer available.

Hi Michel,

I think the early ones were aluminium covered with vinyl (leathercloth) similar to the door cover vinyl.
The later ones were made of Millboard.

Unfortunately I dont know what date they changed.

Hi Paul,
Mine where covered with Millboard. I tryed to covered the new one with vinyl but it's thiker and so more difficult to fit.
If I don't find, I let them with vinyl.

The Millboard does not have a covering as such, the millboard itself has a textured face.

I fitted just the mill board pieces, as said they are textured (also not visible). The covers are quite chunky with a traditional flax / hemp insulation and black heavy finish. These are still on the shelf and will probably never be fitted.

I ordered some thin vinyl from Martrim.
We'll see if it's near the original.

For those who would have any interest, I ordered " Vinide Leather Cloth" From Martrim to do the job.
Very thin, 1/32" ( 0.8mm) it's a very good product.
Prefer neoprene in spray to glue it on the aluminium you'll avoid some acumulations of glue.
