The rubbers that hold my glass washer bottle in place have perished with age, so the bottle rattles over every bump in the road.

As the frame is in excellent powder coated condition I need to replace. Surely someone has already replaced theirs and if so what did you use and what was the source.

Various options but most require you to remove and split the square frame and then rivet it back into place.

I used double wall heat shrink. Others have used correctly sized rubber. IIRC someone found a rubber U channel with a cross section that worked well. Also consider replacing the rubber strip at the bottom. I used thin neoprene rubber from an old wetsuit.

I went for the u channel neoprene.

I used upholstery strapping. The type used for seats with a limited stretch. Managed a good colour match too. Was only in 2” widths , so cut down. Worked on my S1 plastic reservoir.

This might work - I have been using a wrap-around electrical heat shrink tubing that can be applied to a wire (or in this case the metal strap) while it is in place. The shrink-wrap has an adhesive edge which adheres to itself after application.

In this instance, if you cut some pieces of rubber or some other material to produce the needed thickness, apply the shrink wrap tubing and then give it some heat; this should shrink down and look good. It's worth a try. The product is called Zippertubing (photo attached), available online and comes in different widths.

If it's any help the following from Hill top Products (01942 723101 - UK) is perfect for the rubbers. It is a double wall heat shrink and looks as if it will never shrink enough but it does!

Heavy wall heat shrink size 20/6 adhesive lined black HRHW
HRHW-20/6-ADH-o-STK Black.

You won't get a nearer match to the original.
