#1 speedo drive thread

Post by lowact » Sun Jun 09, 2024 5:06 am

Did I just learn something? Struggling to figure out the thread on the ¾ inch speedo drive from the gearbox – that the right-angle drive screws onto. 27 tpi is too fine, 1 mm is too coarse. Thanks to AI assisted searching I now know about BSB (british std brass) threads, 26 tpi across the range…

What's the diameter of the thread on the speedo drive?

You can buy Brass taps and dies on Ebay; they all come from India.

I have bought a number of small machining bits and pieces from India via Ebay.

They've all been pretty good.

I agree Andrew, I bought some “eyebrows” for the A30 from India. Very good quality.

I admit to being a bit jealous.

Back in the day I wrecked an A40 Farina for the nuts and bolts. I wish I'd kept it to race.
