I don`t use my car in Winter , so I don`t need any heater for the cabin , in fact , quite the opposite , I really need a supply of fresh cool air at face level which the Jag set-up sadly does not offer , so....
If I just removed the heater/fan box and blocked off the water pipes would this be ok ?

It would be advantageous in two ways ...

a ) a decent weight saving , and
b) it might be possible to rig up some kind of air feed into the cabin.

Can't see any problem with that and yes you could duct some air through the hole in the firewall albeit with some difficulty.

Good idea , although on longer journeys ( eg. motorways ) the noise and wind buffeting can be a bit tireing.

Had a test drive in a Lotus Elan + 2 last year which had superb cool air flow directed to the occupants inside - a pity The Jag system is so poor.

Can you not just remove the heater matrix and bridge the water pipes which might restrict the cool airflow a little less??

Good idea...I might try that.Certainly easier than making an entirely new air flow system.

Change the blower motor to a Pontiac Fiero one and add the Clayton deflector and adjustable vents. You can leave the heater in place to help demist the screen if it rains. All details on how to do these upgrades in the Forum.

Clayton Classics sells an accessory that provides a metal box to replace the air flaps. The box has better flaps that can direct the air. In addition, it has a round side exit that feeds to a ball air vent similar to those in Triumphs.
