Hi all. Can anyone shed any light on how to disassemble the middle qtr light hinge on a 63 fhc. I need to remove the little thumb screw so all can be chromed. Ta. Chris.

This is all good information, but in my experience is a little more complicated, as the modified part is no longer available.
It is necessary to file the pin at the washer, and in my case this effectively meant filing down the peened over part to release the pivot pin.
It is then necessary to re-make the part that extends out of the washer to enable it to be re-peened. This involves turning down the area around the head to effectively lengthen the pin and then turning down a further reduced area to fit through the washer. In fact I messed mine up and had to make some new ones.

This is what I do. I use a little collet so I can hold the pin in the lathe and I take about 2mm off the shoulder which is just enough to peen the end.
