#1 fluctuating engine revs

I have a series one 2+2
when the brake pedal is pressed the engine revs increase
by 3-500 rpm
guessing vacuum leak but where and how to identify
serv is an L&H exchange master cylinder and valve rebuilt all new vacuum hoses and new valve for airvac
???
any ideas Please

Are you sure the reservac hose is the correct one? Wrong hose can cause the the drop in pressure to collapse it. Other things to check are the vac valve. Just because they are 'new' does not mean they are working correctly!

Hi thanks, could be the valve.
At tickover
the revs stay Okay, and only change when you release the brake pedal
then they rise by 1-200 rpm, then settle back to 700rpm.
not a major problem but i would prefer it didn't do it
I will keep checking

Hi and thanks for the response,
the fault appeared to be, where the vac hose attached to the manifold
as the tube was quite rusty, it wouldn't seal well enough,
have sorted it for now, hopefully tight enough not to cause any more problems
