hello all,
About to get number plates made for my 1970 Series 2. 2+2.
advice please;
1. correct font type for that year?
2.correct colour for that year?
3. suitable manufacturer? [sensibly priced]
have in mind acrylic for rear and a 'stick on' for the front.

Hi Bill
If it had been a UK car it would probably have been the supplying dealer who chose the plates unless the new owner had a preference. Black digits on white and yellow reflective plates came in in 1969 but weren't compulsory on new cars until 1973 so you can have either type on a 1970 car and be "original".
Here are a couple of images from period road tests -sorry about the quality.

This is the type that Jaguar put on one of their 1970 built S3s.

Have a look at Tippers website for more period info. https://www.tippersvintageplates.co.uk/ ... ent&part=2
