#1 New Tub

What do people mean when they state the car has a new tub. Can you still buy the tub and all the body panels for an E type. If so are they reproductions and what is the quality?. Or do they mean it is an old body restored to new.

You can not only buy all E-Type body panels but you can buy a complete body shell from Hutson's or Martin Robey for about ?30k. Just paint it and start putting it the car back together. The 'tub' tends to refer to the main monocoque (i.e. no bonnet, front frames, doors or boot lid). Buying individual panels does require skill when fitting as they are not always a perfect fit. Best idea is to hand (what's left) of your E-Type body to someone like Hutson's and let them restore it using new parts.
