Morning all, can anyone tell me if this is an original key for my 63 car? I’ve not seen one like this before. Fits ign and doors nicely. Thanks. Chris.

For a '63 car, I would simply expect a standard Wilmot Breedon FP or FS series key. I have never seen one of these.

This is a presentation key. Not sure of the origins but these keys were available in period in a presentation box. Don’t think they were factory but a nice addition.

Bud Marston is the expert on Jaguar keys and has written a superb book on the subject - 'Vintage Jaguar Keyrings 1955 - 1980'.

The wings keys are after market and would have originally had a chain and snap lock connector. The Jaguar logo would have been surrounded by green paint and there may be a marking on the reverse. According to Bud it was possibly made by Signa-Craft, New York City. Maybe Bud will be along to give more detail for you.

Hello, nice partial Jaguar 'Wings' keyring. David Jones is correct - your item likely was made by Signa Craft, Fifth Avenue, NYC, but it could have been offered by the National Key Company in Cleveland, Ohio or several other American companies in the 1950s and 1960s. I've included several intact examples with slightly different rings and chains. I've also depicted the only SS keyring to have appeared in recent years - probably fabricated after production of the SS cars.
