There is a foam ring that seals between the heater box and the manifold that feeds it with fresh air on the bonnet; should this foam seal be mounted on the heater box or the manifold. Although there doesn't seem to be a great deal of adjustment in the location of either seal face are there any tips for checking the gap between heater box and manifold?
Thanks,
Ross

It is glued onto the underside of the manifold.
It's not uncommon for the foam to be a bit thick.
Align it so that it looks good on the manifold when the bonnet is open.

To check the clearance use a bit of plasticine, play-doh, or any other squishy material that holds it’s shape.
