The JEC had a batch of extra long banjo bolts made some years ago which I used with success.( The thread is far deeper than the length of the standard bolt so the excess depth is still sound ) . Whether they have any left I do not know, but it's worth a call to the club or to Ken Jenkins

Steve, isn’t it time to find a new friend? One who doesn’t cause you so much
I’ve some spare aspirin if that’d help

No good. Strychnine would do the trick...

If I had you as a friend Peter, I'd gladly take it.

Welcome to my world. I did this once with a newly rebuilt (and installed) engine. After pulling the cylinder head, I installed Helicoil inserts and never had another problem.

Im sure I got my extra longer banjo bolts from SNG. They solve the problem of the standard short ones stripping the threads.
Found this link here to the USA...https://xks.com/i-6919299-jaguar-oil-ba ... 846-1.html
Anyhow, just looked back through our purchase receipts in 2014 and found that you would require:-
C5846/R from sng.. Its the longer repair bolt.
