Hi, the two aluminium shields that sit below the oil filter and the brake serve, should they be painted or not ?
Thanks

They should be black.
I thought about leaving mine unpainted, but I thought that they would tarnish after a while.

On my ser 1 fhc they were definitely black originally but when I restored the car I made new ones and left them unpainted and yes they do tarnish easily.

Yes sorry, Series 1 2+2.
Owned since 1999. Initially used as an everyday car as my SAAB 9000 was written off just after I bought the Jaguar. Used very often until about 10years ago. Now being re welded etc to put it back on the road.

You might consider having them powder coated. The undersides take a bit of a beating from stuff being thrown up from the front tires, and a good powder coat is a lot more durable than any paint.
