Adjustable reaction plate setting

Hi all,
I fitted my Rob Beere adjustable reaction plate today. As recommended I set it using the factory setting links (17 13/16”). I set the adjustment to position 3 on the cam adjuster and the torsion bar bracket was roughly in the middle of its adjusting slot. After moving the car back and forth several times it was at a height of 10 3/4” from lower fulcrum shaft centre to floor. I then moved the cam adjuster to the lowest setting -0 and now have a height of 9 1/8”. I will leave it there and measure again with bonnet on and radiator filled.
Just need to set ignition timing (not my area of expertise) and fit exhaust then I’m ready to fire up I think.

After carefully standing on the picture frame and bouncing my 95kg up and down a few times I have a measurement of 8 3/4” which I feel is perfect as there’s approximately 3” of adjustment up from the lowest setting. Thus far I’m very pleased with the Rob Beere Racing cam adjuster style reaction plate for ease of adjustment and it was straight forward to fit although would’ve been much more pleasant to do on a hoist! I’m a bit over lying on the garage floor!

Hmmm, regarding ease of adjustment, I think it’s impossible to do without having the car on a hoist and using a long breaker bar. Adjusting down was far easier than adjusting up. The ride height has dropped an inch after fitting the bonnet and taking a drive. I tried adjusting yesterday by jacking front wheels off the ground but couldn’t get sufficient leverage to move the adjuster cams. Also left side will be awkward with exhaust in the way.
