Hi,
My car is running on its original leads and I am trying a process of elimination to rectify a slight misfire at high revs so thought I would start with the leads etc.
I want to keep the plug set original looking,
Any recommendations re plug lead types and suppliers in UK.
Don’t mind making up my own.
Thanks in advance,
Nigel.

Hi,
Apologies.
Should have mentioned that car is on standard distributor, points and condenser ignition although may go to a basic contactless set.
123s etc etc seem too much hassle.
Thanks,
Nigel.

In all our restorations we use the standard copper core material supplied by SNGB etc. Seems to work well. I have this in all of my own cars.
Might be worth having a good look at your plug caps as these can develop faults.

Hi I use a 123 ignition, had no issues whatsoever.. but it’s not always compatible with your tachometer..that’s the only bugger!
My S1 works on pulse.
I had to send mine to speedy cables to have it updated to suit at a cost of I believe about £170. Came back looking like brand new..
Anyhow,123 ignition, setting no.7 .. set at 10 degree static advance, Morrosso Silicone leads (Rob Beere Racing) never failed me yet, goes really well...hope that helps

Many thanks for all the advice.
As the car runs well I will keep to a standard set up and hopefully new leads and tighter plugs caps will suffice.
Nigel.
