Series 2 Heavy brake pedal pressure
#1 Series 2 Heavy brake pedal pressure
I replaced the Msster cylinder & brake servo a couple of yeara ago & the brakes were fine. But now the brake pedal requires a lot of pressure as if the servo is not working, the servo hisses and the tank appears to hold pressure, any ideas of a hopefully simple fix?

I suggest first of all you make a few tests . First of all - Can you hear the servo "thud" if you press the pedal soon after the engine has been turned off? You should be able to hear this slight knock for quite a few applications before the servo is exhausted . If there is no knock, then it may be that the servo cylinder piston is seized in its bore
Secondly, disconnect and plug the servo vacuum inlet on the manifold and see if it makes any difference. If there is no difference, then you have proof positive that it is a servo related problem. If it gets even worse however, the reverse is true.

Christopher, thanks for advice - no clonk just a hiss so probably servo as you suggested. Will probably wait now until the winter before I take it apart & live with heavy pressure.
