I have researched the the forum and unfortunately I cannot find the answer, so please don`t think this is laziness on my part.

Just got to the end of an eight year restoration of my beautiful S1.5 OTS. I am left with a small label which states This vehicle complies with all applicable US federal safety standards. Effective Jan 1st 1968.

Can someone please tell me where to afix this.

Before stripping the car I took hundreds of photos. They were all on my Laptop which unfortunatly was stolen.

Thanks

Mike

Source: JAGUAR E-type Six-Cylinder Originality Guide, Haddock & Mueller, p. 444.

Your plate almost certainly would have been placed on the lower left of the firewall behind the voltage regulator. (See images 4 and 5 in attached scanned p. 444)
NOTE: The placement of this plate in image 3 is from a restored car, so the placement is not verified as authentic.

If your restored car still retains the original firewall, you may try to find the two little holes for the rivits used to secure your Federal Standards Plate.

Hi Bud

Thanks for the information. Found the little holes and was able to fix the label back in its orginal position.

Thanks again
