Unfurtunately I had to open up the Angle drive:
The pin was loose inside:
...and I believe it has to be fixed somehow.
Does anyone have an idea how is it fixed??
I thought I would discover some broken piece, but there was nothing inside.

When my car was restored by the previous owner in the 90s the angle drive was replaced along with most other parts as it was on one of the receipts. It lasted about 80 miles as that is what the mileometer had stopped at when I bought it.
I checked the cable was not at fault and bought a new one and replaced it. That worked for another 30 miles. I had enough as they are not easy to get at. Took it to a specialist and instead of replacing it he pulled it apart and silver soldered the gear on to the shaft. He told me that it is now on for good. 20 years later and 6000 miles still going strong.

Sounds like the solution I thought of...
I wonder how it was held on in the st place.
