#1 Heater box seals

Post by myJagV12 » Fri Jun 04, 2021 8:02 pm

I'm currently assembling my heater box and wanted to share the heater seals as part of a kit.

The kit was quite expensive for what it is so maybe some of you requiring new seals wants to make these foam-parts by himself.

The kit contains 7 pieces as seen on the pictures.
Main piece to surround the heat exchanger size 60x6x1.2cm
Flap cover 20x8.5x0.3cm
Flap surrounding 30x1.4x1.4, 17.5x1.4x1.4, 10x1x1, 10x1x1, 22.5x1x0.6cm

Kind Regards,
Tom

When assembling the aftermarket box I headed a problem with the flap mechanism.
The lever is different from the original one so the spring won't fit between preventing the flap to fully close. Seems they require a different spring but it was not included in the kit.
I powder-coated the original lever and will try this one instead. While the original box was rusty and rotten at least the mechanism worked ;-)
I will also provide this information to SNG.

see attached pictures !

The old part looks much wider and gives the spring enough space
