#1 Low Oil Pressure solved
HI Forumites My E-type has had low oil pressure at Hot idle 10 psi since it was rebuilt by my self in 2014 . while Checking over my E-type over,[just before the 60th meet at Shelsey Walsh] i noticed an oil leak from the PRV on the oil filter head, on removing the complete head I found the gasket was fitted back to front, so oil had been leaking past the prv on the LHS, on replacing the gaskets correctly the hot idle pressure increased to 25 PSI [Smiths electrical gauge] .

Easy to do and as a further challenge some gasket kits come with multiple different gaskets.

Err Yes Barrie i must put my Hand up to it, I did not trust the reading on the cars smiths gauge the normal runing pressure was around 45 psi hot , since replacing the gasket this has increased to 48 psi but the idle is steady 25 psi .

We all make mistakes! I had low oil pressure on a 3.8 about a month after a rebuild - I stripped out the filter block and found a wire brush bristle on the relief valve seat.

Yep, definitely reversed.
This design obviously pre-dates the adoption of poka-yoke techniques, etc.
No wonder the Japanese companies kicked our backsides with quality and reliability.
