I started disassembly on the IRS and wondered if the lumps underneath the grease/dirt/oil on the fulcrum nuts was just grease…nope…PO decided he didn’t want those nuts coming loose…weld them up! Glad he was not much of a welder!

I don’t know if it was ever put on a circuit. But an interesting thought.

When the brake joints won’t come apart, it’s OK to use a plumbing fitting to join two pipes, right?

If its a standard compression plumbing fitting then no.....but a brake union with flared ends on the tube is a recognised connection in brakes.....Steve

Oh it’s a standard plumbing connection!
The PO did some fine work!

After getting through the grease oil and dirt to a clean cage, I find these two holes burnt through the cage. Curious if this is PO modification to get at something on the rear brakes?
