Wiring to rear Si

Rhd S1 4.2 . Hi should the loom to the rear just go down one side . If so which . This car has come with two rear looms .

Hi Bryan,

I recently re-wired my late 3.8. It has 2 rear looms, 1 down the rhs to the rear lamp cluster & number plate lamps, and 1 down the lhs to the lamp cluster, reverse lamp, fuel pump, guage unit and dome light. I suspect that on a 4.2 the wire to the fuel pump also goes down the rhs.

This is a 3.8 diagram from the workshop manual. The only real difference with a 4.2 is that the rh rear loom also carries the fuel pump wiring

Yes.

One runs down the RHS & the other down the LHS. You can tell which is which by the colour of the indicator wires. Green/red on the left, green/white on the right.

Also, right hand loom has the handbrake switch wiring.
