#1 Drive Side Door Latch Broken

Post by fhwlloyd » Sat Sep 04, 2021 8:58 am

Mid way through a journey yesterday I went to open the door, pressed the barrel down on the door lock and felt something go. Now the door won’t latch closed. I can lock the door when inside which gives enough so that it won’t swing open but isn’t fully closed on the latch.

My questions:

Anyone experienced this before?
Any ideas on what has broken?
Any quick solutions for on the road before getting it properly repaired?

Looking at the manual and reading some other posts it sounds like the mechanism can be quite fiddly. I don’t want to take it apart to the find I can’t even lock the door to be able to get home.

Thank you in advance!

When that happened to me it was the bottom breaking out of the alloy cup. If your latch button is staying depressed pull it back out and the door should latch again. As stev3 said you need to take the door apart.
