Parts of my exhaust are starting to look very rusty , so maybe now would be a good time to replace with stainless before something falls off . I might go for the SNGB / Bell sports system with straight through silencers , but maybe retain my existing chromed resonators , as they are still in good nick .Has anyone fitted one of these recently , or maybe have any tips for fitting ?
Also, I wondered why the " Sports " system was more expensive than the standard item , when the only difference was a bit less metal in the silencers

Hi Mark........I helped SNG with the loan of my S2 2+2 to trial fit a Bell exhaust becaus they had a complaint from someone in the US saying it wouldnt fit.....The key is to start assembling from the front not tightening anything till its all in place then tighten.....on my 4 post lift it took about 40 mins very easy fitted great.......note that the stainless straps that go aroung the mid silencer boxes are not good they position the boxes wrong and are far too thick for you to be able to bend into shape......use the mild steel brackets but dont connect the two boxes together till your happy with the position........why is the "sport" more expensive.....marketing and possibly becaus they dont sell as many.....Steve

Thanks Steve - I might give SNGB a ring and ask if it would be advisable to fit any extra bits ie. brass nuts and the compression rings that fit between the exhaust manifold and the 2 down pipes .

Yes fit new compression rings and nuts.....As i said above this will be the start point for the fitting so dont tighten till its all in.....SNG are very good but you will get much better tech/fitting advice here on the forum.....Steve

Reminds me of my Triumph bikes. The 500s were dearer than the 350s just because they had bigger holes in the cylinder block!
