#1 Fuse ratings?

Hello, I've checked the tech library but couldn't find the info telling me what the fuse ratings are for each of the fuses in the fuse box. Anyone know the ratings 1 - 8 fuses?

Page 75 of the S2 Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook:



1 Headlamp main 35 amps
2 Headlamp dip 35 amps
3 Horns 50 amps
4 Traffic hazard warning 35 amps
5 Side, tail, panel number plate lamps 35 amps
6 Horn relay, washer, radiator fan motors stop lamps 35 amps
7 Flasher, heater, wiper, choke, fuel, water, oil gauges, 35 amps
8 Headlamp flash, interior lamps, cigar lighter 35 amps
- Electrically heated backlight (optional extra) 15 amps (inline fuse)

Remember these are the blow ratings, not to be confused with modern fuse ratings

This info is also shown on the plate visible when the drop down centre panel is lowered. Don’t know if the usuals stock them if your car doesn’t have one.

I managed to get replacement fuses from amazon.

I’m surprised to hear the long river company sells correct, slow blow glass fuses. Here is one example of the explanation of which type to get, I hope it will help you ensure you have the correct ones.

Drop down you dash...you should have a plaque with fuse positions and ratings....Steve

The sensible thing to do is to measure the current draw of each component part and fit an appropriate fuse for the load.

For example, for item four (the hazard lamps), this has to cover four 21watt bulbs and heating a bimetallic strip in the flasher can. A 35amp fuse isn't really appropriate value, no matter what basis you make your measurements. A much lower value serves better.
