#1 Screws for sun visor mount

Post by phoenix » Sat Dec 11, 2021 4:44 am

Hi I ordered the screws from a well known supplier for my S 1 FHC and they seem to be the wrong size.
I thought most of the threads used were either UNF or the smaller ones than 1/4 Ba sizes .
The 1 BA screw which is the one smaller than 1/4 UNF fits diameter wise but seems to be the wrong thread as it only screws in one or two turns . Any thoughts .

Yep. I think you'll find they are 10-32 UNF.

There are very few BA threads in the cars, they are only really used in the instruments and carburettors.

I'm surprised you are struggling with these screws. They are easily available from the usual suppliers or fastener specialists.
