In English would that be the wheel arches of the bonnet wings?
Sorry can’t answer your question but liked “the two peoples separated by a common language” aspect.

Originally painted body colour. Where underbody protection was applied it was oversprayed in body colour as well.

David, do we have any photographic evidence from the production line or period car shows which shows the cars having body colour under the front wings? I've had a number of debates with the company that looks after my car who remain pretty adamant that this would have been black. I've had a look at the factory fit section and have not found any definitive pictures to prove this either way.

While I'm not in a position to weigh in on the correctness of the wheel arch finish, I will weigh in on the desirability of an undercoat of some kind. If your friend intends to drive the car in the real world, then some sort of schutz/undercoat would be highly desirable to prevent reverse stone dents and perhaps paint damage in the upper bonnet surface.autoalain wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:39 pmFolks, restoring a 2+2 1970 for a buddy, he want inner front fender painted body color and left that way,

And wheel arches that are body color, i.e. not satin black, look crap, IMO, but that's an entirely different subject of contention

The bonnet of my car was resprayed sometime in the past, and that included a respray of the underbonnet and a black protective coating under the wheel arches.
It was not a top quality job and the black coating appears to chip under use, revealing what I think was the original treatment, which was apparently some kind of tar coating with an overspray of red:
As it stands, not only it is not very nice, but worse it does not protect anymore from possible water ingress and therefore corrosion and possible dents.
I will have the protection redone as original, all in red.

I had Upol Raptor applied to mine, as well as at the rear inner arches and underside of the floor pan as it is very hard wearing and can be tinted to match the body colour.
It had a semi-gloss finish which also helped when cleaning off the dirt etc.
