#1 Mangoletsi 3.8 RHD throttle linkage conversion kit

Post by Sepp » Wed Feb 23, 2022 6:03 pm

Hallo,
SNG offers a short travel Mangoletsi kit for 3.8 RHD etypes.
A long travel RHD kit is unfortunately not on offer.
Can anyone please share his experience with the kit?
Is the travel as short as with the original setup?

thank you

Hi
I fitted one of these to my 3.8 as part of the RHD conversion. I can’t compare the travel to the original setup as it was a non-driver before I restored it. However, it provides a very direct and instant throttle response without any ’slop’ in the linkages. I’m guessing that given the description of it being ‘short travel’ it is less travel than the original.

Mangoletsi seems for good reasons to have a lot of fans here, nonetheless I am
no fan of a digital throttle, with little travel from 0 to 1, like in my 2+2…
So is the travel ok for you in your configuration, no risk of inadvertant excessive throttle?
Do you know by chance the length of the travel from idle to full throttle?
cheers

Hi Sepp,

I don’t think there is a Long Travel version of the RHD kit. I vaguely recall this is more to do with LHD kits and the length if cable options, not travel of the pedal, but I may be wrong.

I have driven many Etypes and can confirm that the Mangoletsi kit makes a dramatic improvement on the original. Even if the original rod setup is perfectly adjusted, there is still some play. The original setup has a VERY short pedal travel compared with the Mangoletsi kit, and the Mangoletsi can be adjusted for longer or shorter travel as required. The throttle response with the kit is fantastic - full, seamless control and super-smooth.
