#1 Body Jig Dimensions

Post by colinevans » Tue May 31, 2022 12:34 pm

Hi Guys
I have a steel body jig I used on my S2 OTS restoration that bolts onto the IRS mounts and the tub rails. Another user on here is interested in taking it on but he has an S3 FHC. Does anyone know if the underbody dimensions (between the rails) and the IRS mounts are the same on these two models?
Thanks, Colin.

As the S3 is the same as the S1 and S2 2+2s and they have the same diffs as the swb cars then the rear end should pick up just the same. The 2+2 is 9 inches longer and therefore one or two of your forward pick up points for the jig may need new pieces welded on. But a small alteration.
I’d have thought it would be very easy to use your jig for an S3 so long as a bit of minor modification is within the ability of the buyer or farmed out to a local welder.
