#1 Roadster interior mirror dash bracket

Post by Heronscourt » Fri Mar 25, 2022 2:25 pm

I’m about to re-cover the dash top but need to know here the bracket at the bottom of the tensioning rod which also carries the mirror locates. Everything I’ve read indicates it should have been fitted to the dash top with set screws and nuts but there are no corresponding holes in the dash top panel. The bracket can only go one way around to give the necessary angle for the rod in relation to the screen. Unfortunately it’s one of the few items I didn’t photograph when I did the strip down many moons ago

The bracket does not fix there but, instead, to the bulkhead under the dashtop. As such, you can take the dashboard top off (in order to get to things) without the need to dismantle the mirror mount assembly.

Hi Phil,

I think the braket is under the dash and not on it.
Like that you can fit out the dash without dismounting the miror and all the parts around.
If you look at the factory fit, you'll only see the rod coming from throught the dash

Thanks Mitch and Phil, just what I needed, especially the photo. I was looking at the bracket and rod angle in relation to the dash top and not the firewall.
