#1 Gearbox Identification

Post by GrahamEmmett » Fri Apr 29, 2022 8:30 am

I've recently acquired 2 gearboxes with Laycock Overdrives which I'm struggling to identify.
Box 1 seems to have this ID: KCN532 and is dated on the casting 23/2/68. The Laycock overdrive has serial number 28/61743/004471
Box 2 is JBN5749 dated 31/3/65 and the overdrive is 28/68572/004825
The casting reference is DA20594 C20019

Can anybody help me?

You may have better luck posting this on a more general Jaguar forum site, such as jag-lovers. They will have a saloons section. E-types never had o/d boxes from the factory.

If so - hello !

:yeahthat: Steve has it exactly correct . KCN is from a 240 ; JBN is from either a 3.4 or 3.8 S type
