Just go to a proper shop that repairs alternators and motors. Butec will be synonymous with Prestolite and Leece-Neville. Units like these were used in ambulances and fire engines so the shop will have a spare parts catalogue for all of the parts.

Last time I had one repaired, it was in Reigate or Redhill, just around the corner from the station.

kind regards
Marek

Czesc!

The external diode pack only carries the field current, so is not a super high current item. It is packaged the way it is because it is externally mounted, so it has to be insulated and splash proof. Since it is unlikely that all three diodes have blown, use a meter and measure which way around they are. Assuming you have no luck finding a supplier, you can then make up a substitute diode pack from three diodes - they'll want to be joined together at one end and probably have three loops at the other end to mate with the contacts on the alternator body. If it is properly insulated and can handle ~7amps then it ought to be more than adequate.
