#1 alternator shield front fixing

Hi, series 1 2+2.
How is the front fixing of the alternator shield fixed to the block? Is it a stud or a bolt? The parts book refers to three spacers presumably two go under the manifold mounting studs ( mine are not long enough). How thick are the spacers?
