Folks, I have a pristine 1970 2+2 with a body that is 100% perfect, no rust at all, non original engine(86 xj6) and has an automatic trans now, my aim is to sell in the spring, is it worth it to put in a 4 speed and
remove the auto, will it bring much higher amount on resale?? labor is not an issue, (it's my time),
and I can pic up complete unit for about $1,200.00(trans/clutch). thanks Mike.

Mike, that could be difficult as the auto box was very much introduced for the North American market where automatics were far more popular. Has the market changed in Canada or even US if it sold there? Are buyers more interested in a manual box nowadays? To reflect it as a driver’s car. I reckon that is the situation here in Britain.
You may find much better thoughts on Jag Lovers who would have better ideas of the market your side of the pond. Ask if someone were to buy it what would they want.
What would you prefer as a buyer? For $1200 it isn’t an expensive job.
Best ideas I can throw forward, good luck
Geoff
