#1 Windscreen washer pipe routing

The pipe for my windscreen washer is pulled diagonally across inside the bonnet, from the jets to the offside front wing, through a hole in the inner wing and then tie wrapped onto the sub/engine frame back to the washer bottle/pump. When the bonnet is closed I assume the pipe is touching the engine. I've looked at lots of under bonnet pics and in theirs the pipe is not visable, therefore what is the correct routing and if possible can someone describe with a pic(s)
Thanks in advance for any help.

I've just checked Haddock and there are no decent photos there. It might be worth a trawl through XKEData to get a concensus.

From memory my one feeds through a hole in the double skinned area of the bonnet which closes above the firwall next to the inner wing and reappears out through the inside bulge of the bonnet near to the jet itself, you should also have the tags which keep it in line coming up from where it leaves the stone guard, Alfi.

Andy and Alfi,
Thanks for your replies and a great idea to check XKEdata galleries. What I've discovered is that not all models have the washer jets mounted on the bonnet like the 2+2. The FHC and OTS has two seperate jets located on the bodywork just in front of the screen.

Further viewing of 2+2 pictures only, showed the pipe followed the inner wing round, clipped in some way.
Before picture:

I sourced some new pipe and spoke to the staff at Woolies, who were very helpful and directed me to another company called Bresco. They have clips of all descriptions and had the required brackets; a close up of one can be seen in the picture below:

The finished job is a lot neater I?m sure you?ll agree, see picture below:

I think that all lwb E Types have the same arrangement with the washer, as there isn?t room on the panel in front of the windscreen.
Have a look at the photo of my S3. The pipe runs along the outer wing seem, then along the inner wing seam to the front. Along the inner wing seam is a row of tags, one side of which has a plastic sheath, which are just bent up to retain the pipe. The small area where it runs along the outer wing seam has a couple of ?N? shape pipe clips, one side of which clips to the inner wing flange, and the other side is semi-circular, and retains the pipe.
As Alfi said, as it gets to the back of the bonnet, it feeds into the double skinned area, then pops out by the washer jet. No other fasteners are required.
At the front of the bonnet, it just hops down to the bottom rail of the nearside frame, and goes on to the bottle, held in place with the standard plastic loom ties.

Almost - The Series 1 2+2s have the windscreen in the same position so have the jets on the scuttle like the OTS and coupe.

Oops, I'd forgotten about the S1 2+2. I guess it was at the S2 that the windscreen was 'pulled' forward at the bottom...or was it pushed back at the top as well?
