#1 Wishbone wear

Whilst the engine is out of my car I thought it wise to replace the front wishbone bushes, almost certainly the originals.
The near side lower bushes were both seized to the fulcrum, and are now removed.
However the torsion bar does “rock” to a degree in the wishbone. There is no discernible radial or lateral play.
Would anyone be able to advise how much rock is acceptable?
Many thanks
Simon

Don't know what you mean by "rock" if there's no discernable movement, is it something you feel? The TB does flex or bend to a slight degree due to it being off center from the wishbone bushes. However, under load, it's unlikely to rock since it's held in tension by the tortion load applied by the weight of the car.

Hi Simon....are you refering to movement in the splines where the torsion bsr slides into the wishbone...it shouldnt be a loose fit....Steve

Hi Steve, Yes, the torsion bar is not a tight fit in the wishbone splines. When held at the reaction plate end it can be rocked approx 10mm from side to side. All the movement being in the splines.
There is no radial movement.
Thank you
Simon

That should not happen.
