#1 IRS top access panel - is it worth having one?

Post by Rich70 » Fri Jan 12, 2024 3:46 pm

My 1970 S2 2+2 has a butchered panel above the IRS.

View from below:

I have a replacement panel that I can either cut to carry out a full repair or turn the repair panel into a removable access panel?

It would appear that having an access panel to the top of the IRS was standard at one point:

Is the additional effort (thinking of nuts and a neoprene seal) worth the reward of an access panel? It would have been useful for the previous owner.

Just interested in the form ms opinion?

Thanks. R.

My series 1 came with an access panel, handy when you need to change or inspect the rear brake pads….
