Folks, in my 67 FHC I have a working SU fuel pump, it has a (what looks lke) 2 vent pipes, small about
1/8 size in back of where the 2 big lines go, and also one near the front of pump( near where the positive
wire goes, pump does work fine and fits perfect, could be from another car after 50 years of life,
does anyone know what I should do?? leave them alone or put a vent out of the car bottom. Thanks Mike.
SU fuel pump vents (2)????
#2 Re: SU fuel pump vents (2)????
If they are like the SU pump on my 69 Sprite they are not really vents, they are so the diaphragm can breath. They are not venting fumes.
Mine go from the pump up into the trunk to supply clean air for the diaphragm to operate.
