Folks, time to put seats in, I found the original bolts that the rear of seat adjustment roller attaches
to the body, under all of them(and front attachment too) a small 1 in x 1in block of black wood
to raise seat up, is this stock or did the last owner have a very bad seat cushion, I'm 6ft tall,
would this be a help if not stock, has anyone seen or done this. Thanks Mike

Blocks of wood were not standard. There was originally a spacer (about .25" thick) under each mounting point that sat directly on the floor pan to prevent crushing of the floor covering.

I'm also 6ft tall. I don't know about 4.2's but my 3.8 had 1" thick wooden spacers under each runner. I found it practical to remove the spacers now I fit (just). I've not had any issues with the floor covering getting crushed.

Thanks for reply, guess they must be from factory if u had them to, I will try in car to see what difference
it makes, the reason I did not combine my questions is this question came up on the day after my 1st post,
I work in the garage 8 hours a day now, This restore has takes a lot longer then other cars and a lot more expensive, now installing all leather interior, used 4 full skins in the process, heck of a big job.
Thanks from Mike.

No evidence to say these wooden blocks were from the Factory. Highly unlikely Jaguar would countenance fitting wooden blocks under the seats given the safety implications if the cracked/rotted. The J37 dertails what was fitted:
So Packing Piece x8 at first then Packing Washer x12 then Packing Washer x 8 depending on VIN.

Also fitting that high spacers would put a high leverage on (longer) bolts and risk them cracking upon load and fatigue.
