#1 Headlamp flash

Post by AshM » Wed May 01, 2024 4:05 pm

Hi

Just a quick confirmation please.

My headlamp main beam switch, to the right of the steering wheel, is also a headlamp ‘flash’ when the lights are off?

Mine only works when lights are turned on.

Just thought I would double-check before starting to seek the fault.

Thanks
Ash

Hi Ash...instructions are in the small buff Operating, Maintenance & Service Handbook....the headlamps can be flashed when the lights are off or when in the dipped beam position...but will not flash in the main beam position....Steve https://www.brooklandsbooks.co.uk/produ ... -handbook/

Ash, don’t you get headlight flash by pulling the indicator switch towards you? I’ve never regarded the main/dip switch as a way to flash the headlights, except by flicking it up/down when the headlamps are on. Which is clumsy, at least imho, but everyone to their own.

Goodness, I never knew that Geoff.

I shall try when next at the workshop.

After all, the car has only been in the family 51 years and 34 with me. Clearly still lots to learn!!! 😂😂

Cheers

Thank you Geoff.

My headlamps flash is, as you state, on my indicator stalk.

Every day is a school day! :thankyouyellow: :thankyouyellow:
