This inspired me to ask a question:
How was the towbar mounted? Here it seems it's mounted to the bumpers!

In the 1970's I used my series 1.5 2 plus 2 to tow my 4 berth caravan all over the UK. I fitted a Witter tow bar to it and if I remember correctly it bolted onto the two inner bumper mounts, had an angled piece that was bolted to the body just below the number plate with an extension piece running forward to the front of the spare wheel well. Never had any problems and often towed a 4 wheel car trailer with another car upon it.

Well, I am truly surprised how the rear end of the e-type took it. There re no structural parts at the rear end..
But I guess times were different :-)

That German E Type trailer is a work of art.
I wonder if that was all that could be salvaged of a particular car.
