e type oil filler cap rubber seal 3.8 series 1 1963

Hi can someone help me please. I need an oil seal for the filler cap where you put the oil in the engine, for the car. I am struggling to find the part number and where to get one from. Please if someone can let me know the quickest and best place I would be so grateful

I run an O ring on mine. Seals without fail and doesn’t require high torque to do so. Size is not critical, just needs to be thicker, on the order of 1/8”, and slightly smaller than the OD of the cap just another threads.

And if you are really fastidious, you can find a size which will allow for precise ‘clocking’ of the filler cap with the Jaguar name dead in line with the cam cover. :)

I fitted a Monza type cap on mine, precisely because of the torque needed to remove the screw cap, which my old hands could not achieve.
