S1 FHC.
I am trying to fit the switches I purchased from well known supplier and they do not seem to be able to grip the tube where they fit. Also they don't seem long enough and do not operate. I.e.
Light stays on when doors closed.
,(I have fitted the small striker plate).

Bryan,
I think there should be 2 of the small striker plates on each side (4 in total).

Had the same problem, typical repro parts from the usual suspects.

Agreed, I have a pair of new reproduction switches in my surplus parts box because I accidentally found the original switches and they were so much better in every sense.

Very often 2 chrome plates are fitted to make the distance correct. The reproduction switches need the spring retainer squashing with pliers to make them fit. However, I also found my originals and went with those.
