I was wondering if anyone can recommend SU carburetor restoration services, in the UK.
Unfortunately it seems that David Lonsdale has definitely retired.

Take them to Burlen in Salisbury. They make the SU and other carbs.

Tadek it's really easy and very satisfying to do them yourself.
The only complex thing is rebushing the bodies; that you would farm out.

Sadly David Lonsdale has actually passed away. A lovely man and a wonderful restorer of SUs rest in peace David. I know he has helped many Jaguar restorers with his superb workmanship.
I gather he passed in July 2023.

Oh, that is terrible news - he was not only a perfectionist, he was also such a good and kind man! I visited him once, he showed me around the workshop, he lived in a beautiful place, an old church rectory..

Many thanks for all the hints, I will pass them on.
I need a good lead, as it's for an 1950 XK120 OTS for a fellow here in Poland, who has the car and is restoring it..

My SU’s and Gauges were probably among the last jobs David restored before he retired. His work was excellent.
Sad to hear of his passing RIP.

He did my Frogeye ones in '22. We also did a project together on S1 automatic linkage under the carbs, as I had a good sample.
I wonder if anyone took over David's workshop.

I received an e-mail from Judith Lonsdale the other day, confirming that David passed away in July '23.
She wrote me that David had a business associate, George Todd, who very kindly dealt with his workshop and any remaining business outstanding.
I contacted George, he agreed to post his mail address here:

I asked for prices for XK120 carbs and they seem very fare.

PS. I hope I am not violating any rules :-)
