Oval access panel in driver’s footwell - which way to fit it?
#1 Oval access panel in driver’s footwell - which way to fit it?
We are in the middle of a total rebuild of our S1 OTS RHD and have what we think is some kind of access plate/cover that fits into the driver’s footwell - Martin Robey’s call it Forward Tunnel Side Panel Cover (part # MRE120ARH/C). It’s oval with straight sides and has a small notch cut-out - what we don’t know in which position the cut-out should go (if looking from inside the footwell). We’re also assuming there should be a gasket for it, but we haven’t been able to source one… does anyone have any ideas? (We are based in the UK, so UK sources please!). Thanks all!

Thanks Steve - that explains it! Seems none of the usual suppliers have the gasket (could be they changed the part # - I'll call them.. ).
Do you know which way the panel fits (looking from the footwell)? It has a cut-out. should this be top or bottom, and left or right, if looking from inside the footwell?
Thanks again
Rebecca

The Robey part is aftermarket useing their own part number I think...not even sure its the correct shape...plenty of images of others builds in the restoration section if you search....Steve ps photo of your cutout and panel would be usefull

The cutout ib mine was at the 10 o’clock position when I removed it. It did not appear to have ever been removed before . I could see no logical reason for the cutout.
