#1 1965 FHC windscreen chrome strip

Hi All,
Hopefully my last question on the windscreen.
First i'm a bit surprised now the windscreen seal locking strip is in place, how easy the chrome strips went in. The down side of this is the ends of the chrome strip pop out a little at the ends. Is it normal to use any adhesive on these ends, or should I just to rely on the vertical a-post chromes to keep them in place?
The second part to that is securing the a-post chromes, is adhesive applied to them?
I was also curious if anybody knew why there is a hole on each end of the top and bottom chrome strip, picture attached?
Next job is fitting the engine, been waiting a long time for that...
