On dismantling the engine, I was happy to find no resistance when pulling the crankshaft damper off. But it was to discover that the cone was broken in 4 pieces, at the end of each slit.
As I never saw the engine running, I wonder what symptom this could be? Dead damper? Strongly unbalanced crankshaft? Or just unskilled prior mechanics?
If you have any advice I'll take it.
